Dufour aEro 2 eVTOL Aircraft Concept, Specs, and Price
aircraftconcept.com – Dufour aEro 2 is a hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developed by Dufour Aerospace, Switzerland. The aircraft is based on the aEro 1 electric aerobatic aircraft which were launched in October 2016. The aEro 2 aircraft concept was inaugurated in September 2016, while integration and ground testing is scheduled for late 2020. the aEro 2 eVTOL aircraft will be built in various configurations.
The first prototype of the aEro 2 aircraft was tested in different concepts such as tilt-wing and tilt-rotor. The aircraft is currently carrying out a number of tests including testing aerodynamic profiles, weights, weights and balances, power speed and rotor speed settings. In addition the wind tunnel test was also carried out by Dufour Aerospace in collaboration with Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften (ZHAW) School of Engineering (University of Applied Engineering Zurich University School) in June 2018.
The aEro 2 fuselage will have a monocoque structure and will display collision health. aEro 2 aircraft rotor will be placed above the height of the head to increase safety for passengers and viewers. This aircraft will be equipped with landing gear which has the capacity to absorb impact energy.
Cabin Aero 2 aircraft will be able to accommodate two passengers and can be flown in optional piloted mode. The aircraft can be operated in urban air transportation and in populated areas with less environmental impact.
An optional auxiliary power unit will be installed on the aEro 2 eVTOL aircraft to provide extended coverage when operated in a hybrid configuration. It will also be equipped with batteries for energy storage. The conventional aircraft layout on the aircraft allows it to operate even if engine failure occurs.
The aEro 2 aircraft will have a maximum speed of 400 km / h and a cruising speed of 320 km / h at the same cost per km as a car. It will offer a range of 120 km in full electric configurations and up to 800 km in hybrid configurations. Dufour aEro 2 can take off from and land on a short runway, or land at a kiosk speed below 61 kt. It will have the ability to float at 2,000 m / M at ISA 20 ° C.

Dufour aEro 2 eVTOL Design and Specs
The aEro 2 aircraft will feature a tilted wing design. The design will offer aerodynamic stability and greater control in slow air velocity by providing continuous air flow over the wings. The aircraft will feature a large wing surface and an efficient tail fan which increases the attitude authority in flying in all weather conditions. The wings will immediately lift when switching from hovering mode to the plane. The aEro 2 fuselage will have a monocoque structure and will display collision health. aEro 2 aircraft rotor will be placed above the height of the head to increase safety for passengers and viewers. Dufour aEro 2 eVTOL Engine and Performance
Dufour aEro 2 eVTOL can be powered by a fully electric or hybrid propulsion system to reduce noise and reduce downwash. The electric propulsion system consists of four motors which will ensure the aircraft is able to fly fully even in an emergency. Three large blades mounted on each side, each moving two motors. An optional auxiliary power unit will be installed on the aEro 2 eVTOL aircraft to provide extended coverage when operated in a hybrid configuration.
