Transcend Air Vy 400 VTOL Aircraft Specs and Price
aircraftconcept.com – Transcend Air Vy 400 is a single-engine vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft designed and developed by Transcend Air. This aircraft is intended to produce fast and cost-effective inter-city transportation, this aircraft offers travel three times faster and 50% cheaper than similar sized helicopters.
The first Transcend Air Vy 400 VTOL prototype took flight in 2009 and 15 VTOL prototypes have been built and tested by the company. Of the 15 prototypes, 14 were installed with electric engine power for flight testing, while one was installed with a gasoline engine.
Transcend Air plans to start commuter flight services from major city centers such as Manhattan and downtown Boston in the US, using VTOL landing pads in 2014. The aircraft is expected to begin full operation in January 2024.
The Transcend Air Vy 400 aircraft is equipped with a retractable landing gear that can reduce obstacles during flight. This VTOL aircraft has a parachute system throughout the fuselage to land safely in an emergency. The airframe parachute system is supplied by BRS Aerospace. Vy 400 is also equipped with health and usage monitoring, flight to known icing (FIKI), and mission protection technology.
The Transcend Air Vy 400 aircraft can fly with a maximum cruise speed of 651 km / h and a hover speed of 64 km / h with a maximum range of up to 720 km. This VTOL aircraft has a rate of climb (RoC) of 4,500 ft / min (23 m / s) and a rate of sink (RoS) of 4,000 ft / min (20 m / s). The aircraft's empty weight is 2,177 kg, while its maximum take-off weight is 3,170 kg. This VTOL aircraft can carry a useful load of around 997 kg and a maximum fuel load of 435 kg.
Flight control Transcend Air Vy 400 equipped with geo-fence sensor technology and pulses further ensures smooth, safe and targeted flight, while avoiding obstacles in the flight path. This system allows the aircraft to fly back to the specified area.

Transcend Air Vy 400 VTOL Specs
Transcend Air Vy 400 is a VTOL convertiplane based on the Elytron Converticopter. The aircraft does not require a runway to take off and land because the wing structure is tilted vertically to allow takeoff and landing operations. The aircraft's wing structure will automatically move to the horizontal position after the aircraft reaches the required height. The Transcend Air Vy 400 aircraft is equipped with a retractable landing gear that can reduce obstacles during flight.
