Ascendance Atea eVTOL Aircraft Concept and Specifications
aircraftconcept.com – Ascendance Atea is a hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft developed by Ascendance Flight Technologies. This aircraft will be innovative, safe, low noise, clean, has low operating costs, long distance and will be easily integrated into the existing aviation infrastructure and regulations. The first flight of the Atea sub-scale prototype will take place in 2018. The company is currently in the process of making a full-scale prototype which is expected to take two years. The aircraft is planned to operate in 2024 or 2025.
Ascendance Atea's aircraft are designed with high-wing and low-tail main configuration. It will be equipped with a tricycle landing gear and safety features of redundant electric drive, flight control, and can land conventionally on the runway if the VTOL system is not functioning.
Ascendance Atea aircraft will blend in with existing infrastructure with low noise signatures and low operating costs to make urban, inter-city and regional air mobility a reality, without having to revolutionize the urban landscape.
The cabin of the Ascendance Atea aircraft can accommodate three passengers and one pilot. The aircraft will be able to fly with a cruise speed of 200 km / h and will cover a range of 150 km (93 miles). The aircraft's gross weight is 2,000 kg (4,400 lb) and has a payload of 450 kg (992 lbs).
Ascendance Atea Design
Ascendance Atea will be the first VTOL aircraft from the company that will offer the best in its class endurance, speed, payload, safety and performance, based on a unique and patented hybrid propulsion system, VTOL fan and Type aircraft. Ascendance Atea Specifications and Engine
The Ascendance Atea is powered by an electric motor to drive three lifting fans. There is one fan on each wing and one fan on the nose of the aircraft to take off and land vertically. Meanwhile, a propeller is mounted on the nose which is powered by a turbine engine for forward flight. The aircraft can take off and land vertically or land like a conventional airplane, if needed. When the aircraft is flying, the turbine engine charges the battery to take off and land vertically. The cabin of the Ascendance Atea aircraft can accommodate three passengers and one pilot.
